El Bolson  valley  is located in the well-known “ Cordillera de los Andes”(Patagonia Argentina) and in the south –west side of  Rio Negro province, 1770km from Bs As. Situated at cerro Piltriquitron`s base, it gets its name because of its particular geographical characteristics ( the shape of a huge bag surrounded by mountains and glaciers).

The Bolson is and always will be an earthly paradise filled with miths and dreams of progress and history. The many native cultures, the arrival of Chileans and Europeans, the dream of a new   independent republic, the arrival of groups of hippies in the 70`s and professionals in the 80`s, all have helped to create a place of unique influences and culture.

The weather conditions in this town, like its microclimate have always distinguished this place from other regions because here grow the best strawberries, blackberries, sauco, etc.
Every Tuesday, Thursdays and Fridays the regional fair opens, one of the most important fairs of South America.
